Week 34

We just graduated from Birth & Parenting class and are now completely prepared for the big event. Or not so much. But we know more now than we did before. T is a quick study with the hee-hee-hoo breathing techniques and will be a great coach. Now if I can just accept that there is no alternative ending to this pregnancy thing, and that the baby will indeed have to come out eventually...

A New Family Member

Today we traded in the SuperJet for a car with a friendlier disposition. Meet the Subaru.

Week 33

This week's special event was a baby shower hosted by the pro team of Pam, Patty & Erica. We had some very special guests fly in just for the occasion - Edye, Wendi, Casey & Moana. Having them here was the BEST. We miss them.

In baby news, I experienced my first series of Braxton Hick contractions. Oh, and I'm getting huge.

Week 32 - Mother's Day

This week we chose a new backdrop: the crabapple tree we planted on Mother's Day two years ago in honor of KC. Though not yet in full bloom, the branches are covered in fuschia buds that look ready to open next week.

This mother's day we're missing T's mom especially much, while also looking forward to me becoming a mom and to my own mom's arrival tomorrow. We visited the memorial garden this afternoon, which is looking beautiful. We also got the sweetest email from Nic, who has a great knack for looking on the bright side.

We're thankful for all the mothers - past, present & future - in our lives, and wish everyone a happy mother's day!

Week 31

Well, I decided to come back from San Jose after all. It was a tough decision...as you can see, there were some compelling reasons to stay.

Back in Minnesota, the weather rollercoaster is starting to dip less and less into the wintery temps. Today was a beautiful day for baring the stomach out back before heading to a Twins' game/sports shower generously hosted by one of my bosses. Not only did the home team pull out a win, but we are also much better outfitted for #3's arrival thanks to the gifts of toys, clothes, and crib mattresses from friends & family. Thanks everybody!
